April 26, 2004Spirit of AmericaThe Spirit of America fundraiser to Help U.S. Marines Equip TV Stations in Iraq is still going. Do you have a few bucks to spare to help out the marines? Are you anti-war but support the troops?
You'll be glad you did and so will the marines. Posted by rosemary at April 26, 2004 08:14 PM | TrackBackComments
While we're talking about the Liberty Alliance, how about folks drop over and BID on the SoA auction I set up? It's for a copy of The Gabber with the "shoot Rumsfeld" ad in it. Rosemary, you KNOW you need this! :) Original St. Petersburg Democratic Club "shoot Rumsfeld" ad up for auction to benefit the troops Posted by: DSmith at April 26, 2004 11:17 PMwell firstly, our image in the world media is pretty crappy due to the fact that we went in for the wrong reasons. Now we either make Iraq better or lose all prestige. Besides the fact that our troops aren't just there to fight terrorists, they are there to help people. We should understand that and try to help them as much as possible. by the way i posted the trackback on my site and nothing showed up... might wanna check up on that. Posted by: tevren at April 27, 2004 12:23 AMWhen I see people asking, yet again, why we went to Iraq even though it's been exhaustively explained by the administration and by the many advocates for the war, it strikes me that it's time we set up a permanent FAQ, in wiki form I think, for it. It really is ridiculous. We had a year-long debate in this country in which well over a dozen reasons were given for action by the administration and by the vast majority in Congress who voted for it. Now we're in Iraq, taking a tiny number of casualties compared to any major conflict we've been involved in before, are spending a tiny fraction of a percent of our national treasure on it, and are making a huge investment in the future, and we've still got people on the fringe asking why? I can understand people who disagreed with the reasoning. But to say you don't know the reasoning, that's rather ridiculous. Or blindly partisan. One of the two. Posted by: Dean Esmay at April 27, 2004 02:48 AMDean - you forgot one reason: it's being combative and argumentative for the sake of being combative and argumentative. Not that this applies to anyone around these parts, mind you. Posted by: Vickie at April 27, 2004 05:15 AMYeah. So far only "Arne" is being combative and argumentative for the sake of being combative and argumentative. I'm okay with it. Everyone needs a punching bag "Arne" shall be ours. :-) |
