Kerry Picks Edwards

Looks like the Democrats have the John-John ticket.

"I am pleased to announce that with your help, the next vice president of the United States of America will be Senator John Edwards from North Carolina," Kerry told a rousing group of supporters in Pittsburgh.

Why Edwards? Because Edwards makes up for Kerry's deficiencies:

1. Charisma
2. Middle Class roots
3. Southern Appeal
4. Populist
5. Lack of Washington experience - it's a good thing.

But can Edwards make up for Kerry's many deficiencies? In 1988, Lloyd Bentsen was supposed to make up for Dukakis's multitudous and glaring deficiencies, as well to stand in contrast to Quayle, but Dukakis was still so bad that he even lost to George Bush Sr., who was the worst or most ineffectual President in my lifetime next to Jimmy Carter (also Lyndon Johnson). This election seems to me to be but a repeat of that one. Vote for Bush II and gridlock, I guess.

The NY Post made a big boo boo. It reported Kerry picked Gephardt.

So, Steven Malcolm Anderson the Lesbian-worshipping gun-loving selfish aesthete, are you suggesting that we vote a Democratic Senate in to get that gridlock? Who would you vote for then, Hoeffel or Specter?

Edmond:

Specter, I suppose, if I was living in Pennsylvania. I'm living out here in Washington (the state not the Death Star!), so I have to vote for Maria Cantwell and Patricia Murray, even though they both suck, just to balance out Bush. Or, I could do it the other way and vote for (shit-faced, if you ask me) Kerry and whatever Republicans are running here. Maybe I'll vote for Baradnik. I wish Dean Esmay (the King) would nail me into a barral until this election is over, as he said he'd like to do to some people.
