July 17, 2004War Profiteer or Stupid Jerk?I say Mikey Moore is both. According to the family of Major Gregory Stone, Michael Moore is “A Maggot That Eats off the Dead.” The family of U.S. Air Force Maj. Gregory Stone was shocked to learn that video footage of the major's Arlington National Cemetery burial was included by Michael Moore in his movie "Fahrenheit 9/11."
He's a real humanitarian, huh?

Oh, you mean there's a reason the military finally enacted policies that didn't allow the press to photograph caskets or military funerals without family permission? You mean, like, they had a valid reason? Wow. Posted by: Dean Esmay at July 17, 2004 05:22 PMHere's more on moron Moore and "Fahrenheit 9/11": cooking the books, the incineration of integrity, and... ...the intellectual bankruptcy of today's Left. Posted by: Steven Malcolm Anderson the Lesbian-worshipping gun-loving selfish aesthete at July 17, 2004 06:49 PMI hope the family takes whatever legal action is permissable by law, by nature, by humanity, by God and by creationism itself. Nothing on this planet would please me more than to watch that pathetic, low-life bottom-feeder waste of flesh (haha waste/flesh...major oxymoron in his case) squirm his fat ass in a court of law. Scumbag. Posted by: Vickie at July 17, 2004 08:27 PMMaggots have their place. In earlier times, they cleaned wounds of gangrenous flesh, and after death they help decompose bodies back into the soil. They have their place in nature. Michael Moore sounds the exact opposite. I would use the comparison that retired Sen. Fritz Hollings used for Clinton, when he said he ranked him somewhere up there with AIDS, except that would be an insult to AIDS sufferers. Posted by: Edmond the Libertarian at July 17, 2004 08:41 PMThe opposite of a useful maggot. Interesting insult, that. Posted by: Big Dan at July 17, 2004 08:56 PMfunny, those rules have been in place since I was a kid, but I never heard a sinister motive for them until last year. Please consider your answer carefully. This test is take-home, and due on November 2. Posted by: folkbum at July 18, 2004 06:58 PMDeferred compensation means that he already earned the money, right? Like years before he became VP, right? So he shouldn't be allowed to collect his past salary? Who gave Halliburton no-bid contracts in Bosnia? One guess? ----------- You are gonna defend Mikey's disgusting behavior using footage of soldiers without permission? So, Mikey isn't personally making any money off the dead soldier's funeral? Hmmmm? Posted by: Rosemary the Queen of All Evil at July 18, 2004 08:40 PMDefining Pro-Choice; Read this http://www.americandigest.org/mt-archives/001860.php#001860 Posted by: catch 22 at July 18, 2004 09:02 PMCompensation that is being earned but not received, a process that defers the taxes on the compensation until it is actually received at a later date. Deferred compensation includes various plans, some being pensions, profit-sharing, and stock options. In other words, once Dick "Dick" Cheney is done being VP, he'll get his CEO money for the years he was not actually working at Halliburton. This means that every dollar he scores Halliburton in US contracts, he gets some percent once he's out of office. This is crucial, because, despite his proestations that he and his staff were out of the loop on Halliburton's no-bid Christmas presents, there's clear evidence that at least Scooter Libby was, if not Dick himself. At the very least, his key role in planning for war should be suspicious, given that he knows that Halliburton is the US's top military contractor. "The US goes to war," he thinks, "my company makes a lot of money, and then I get PAID, baby!" Posted by: folkbum at July 18, 2004 09:43 PMCatch 22: Good point on that. As for Cheney, I wish he was running for President. He has a very interesting _style_. Andrew Sullivan has an interesting essay on Cheney vs. Edwards, how Cheney is reall gruff and grumpy (reminds me of Bob Dole!), how he is another Darth Vader, an arch-villain for the Left to hate. The Right has produced so many of these wonderfully stylized villains (in the eyes of the Left): Joe McCarthy, J. Edgar Hoover, Roy Cohn, President Nixon, Spiro Agnew. And -- long forgotten by most today, Clemens von Metternich, the Austrian statesman of the early 19th century who restored Throne and Altar and "the Concert of Europe" after the French Revolution. The Left hated his guts, and probably hated him as they have hated no man before or since. Peter Viereck admired him. Let her put them up for adoption if she doesn't want to keep them, but don't kill them. We'll have to start another thread on abortion soon and hash this stuff out some more, I guess. folkbum, why don't you take your trollish moonbat stupidity and peddle it to the dinks over at MoveOn, since they're the only ones dumb enough to fall for that horseshit. Cheney is getting checks based on upon services he rendered before he was elected Vice President. This is a simple and self-evident fact, but fuckwits like you keep trying to create a conspiracy out of thin air. News flash, bunky: Halliburton! Oil! Blood! this is the defense offered up for Moore's obnoxious invasion of privacy. the left has lost it. By the way: it has already been established, repeatedly, that Cheney's compensation cannot change regardless of how much money Halliburton makes or loses. He gets nothing more and nothing less no matter how well the company performs. This is perfectly legal, perfectly ethical, and a total non issue to anyone who is honest enough to simply investigate the facts. This is the problem when a major party relies on hatred as its primary election strategy. They rely on half-truths, not even half-truths but quarter-truths, and just repeat over and over again hoping some of the crap will stick. It's disgusting the depths the Democratic Party has sunk to. The good news? I suspect that the party will right itself eventually. Just not this year. But I'm sure in 10 years they'll have reformed themselves enough that I can vote for them again. I hope so. It still bugs me, feeling so alienated from my old party. Posted by: Dean Esmay at July 19, 2004 07:58 AMCasey Tompkins: And Lee Harvey Oswald was a Communist. We don't hear about that any more. He had previously tried to assassinate General Edwin Anderson Walker for General Walker's "Pro-Blue" stand against Communism. General Walker was a man's man, by the way. Vickie: How could I forget that? That was, by far, the greatest historical event in my life. It was such a thrill watching that on TV with my family. I was entering 9th grade then. "One small step for a man. One giant leap for mankind." That goes for womankind, too. Casey Thompkins: Yes, folkbum, certain folks hate to have the right-wing orthodoxy challenged (they get especially peeved when it’s all horseshit :-) Let’s not foregt that Dick Cheney has a few billion ways to capitalize on Haliburton’s success when he starts looking for a job in November. I hope he does well by the fruits of those no-bid contracts since they were, without a doubt, the stupidest political decision since Bush took office (no small feat). And, Rosemary, Moore is probably a jerk but, as long he can keep getting right-wing blogs to advertise his polemic and treat it like a documentary, he sure ain’t stupid. Posted by: shep at July 19, 2004 02:07 PMNone of us are treating his mentally challenged movie as a "documentary". Posted by: Rosemary the Queen of All Evil at July 19, 2004 02:43 PMAnd I hate to break it to you cuntservatives - but the video was military footage - who in turn - gave Moore permission to use it in the film. Hate the man for whatever reasons you want, but give him his due for film making - he knows the legalities of it and would not put ANYTHING out there that would get him sued. And Casey - if the repugs started sppon feeding you cat shit but told you it was cavier - would you eat it and like it? And finally, Rose - cats probably ARE republican because when they drop a turd, they hurry to cover it up. Posted by: Nunya at July 19, 2004 11:34 PMYeah, and Democrats are dogs. They want everyone to love them and they will do anything to make it happen. My dog eats cat shit - so I totally see the correlation. Eat my shit, Nunya. Posted by: Steven Malcolm Anderson the Lesbian-worshipping gun-loving selfish aesthete at July 20, 2004 12:54 AMYou are right, Steven. Because we all know that conservatives still have the old school "bare foot and pregnant" way of thinking for women. Yet rose, vickie, pam continue to support the old white men who rather take the womans voting right away from them then to realize how intelligent woman who are free thinkers are. Why don't you ask Rose what she does for a living. Posted by: nunya at July 20, 2004 08:02 PM |
