October 23, 2004Fucking Moonbats!!!!!!!!UK Guardian writer Charlie Brooker goes off the fucking deep end by pleaing for the assassination of OUR PRESIDENT. On November 2, the entire civilised world will be praying, praying Bush loses. And Sod's law dictates he'll probably win, thereby disproving the existence of God once and for all. The world will endure four more years of idiocy, arrogance and unwarranted bloodshed, with no benevolent deity to watch over and save us. John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley Jr - where are you now that we need you? I am absolutely appalled that a newspaper would allow that to print. I don't care that they are a foreign paper and I don't care that they are biased against Bush. I do care when they make attempts, even failed attempts, to affect our Nation's election. I would also care if they tried that same stunt in an effort to undermine Kerry. You know why? Because it has been a long time since the British had a fucking say about what we do and the last time they tried - they had their asses handed to them. The disgusting audacity to plead for the assassination of our President. I'm pissed. I'd be just as pissed if it were a Democrat President. Ideology is irrelavent here. I'm an American first and I'm pissed. **Update** Watcher has a contact list if anyone wishes to write their outrage to The Guardian. My response? Ty Cobb, where are you when we need YOU? Posted by: Edmond the Libertarian at October 23, 2004 06:18 PMJust remember, Rosemary, Tony Blair's government is our friend and that is what counts. This writer goes over the line but the Brits and the Aussies are our staunchest allies and I will not let this crass idiot tempt me to think differently even though I know there are lots over there who share his sentiments. Posted by: jane m at October 23, 2004 06:39 PMI will remember it Jane. I am just sick and tired of holier than thou, arrogant pricks pulling this kind of shit. We have them here too, but here printing that would have netted jail time for the writer. Posted by: Rosemary the Queen of All Evil at October 23, 2004 07:01 PMYeah, I'm pissed too... here's some contact info for you. Posted by: Watcher at October 23, 2004 07:08 PMActually, in England I am pretty sure if he had avocated the assassination of Tony Blair, he would face charges. The utter lack of respect this writer displays should result in him being put in a persona non grata list, barred entry to the U.S. for life. Posted by: John Irving at October 23, 2004 07:23 PMWARNING: It is AGAINST THE LAW to assassinate the President of the United States. If you murder the President, you will get the death punishment. And that's irrespective of whether he is a Republican, a Democrat, a Libertarian, a Socialist, or what have you. DON'T DO IT. Vote against him if you don't like him. John Irving is exactly right (as usual). Had this goof written that here on American soil, he would be expecting a little chat with the President's Secret Service. Another outrage a while ago was when a writer in the "Village Voice" advocated the extermination of all Republicans. When a major newspaper publishes such rubbish, something is wrong in this country. I will defend your right to free speech, but I will also defend my right to disagree with you. And I most vehemently disagree with this. Advocating the extermination of the members of any political party, whether Republican, Democratic, Libertarian, Socialist, or even Nazi or Communist, is, morally, completely out of bounds in our political system. We don't deal with our political differences that way. I also agree completely with the Queen about the effrontry of "The Guardian" in England presuming to tell Americans how to vote. They just won a few (or a lot) more votes for Bush in Ohio. Maybe Karl Rove put them up to it. Back when I was using DOS, I wrote a batch file "ty.batt" which read: "type | more" And, a little later, I wrote another batch file "cobb.bat" which read: "ty cobb.bat" Posted by: Steven Malcolm Anderson the Lesbian-worshipping gun-loving selfish aesthete at October 23, 2004 08:50 PMThank you, Steven Malcolm Anderson. I may be right quite often, but you are right as often or more, and with much greater eloquence and grace. I often let my Irish side do the typing, and it shows, along with the scorch marks on my keyboard. Posted by: John Irving at October 23, 2004 09:01 PMWouldn't it be nice if the her Majesty, the Queen (her Royal Highness, Elizabeth Regina II, Queen of England) dragged this little girly little mongrel to the palace and bitchslapped the shit out of him? Or Rosemary. I could go with either of those scenarios. Yes, I think it would be just fine. Posted by: Dave in Texas at October 23, 2004 09:06 PMThe guy sounds like he was drunk. What an idiot. Posted by: Ara Rubyan at October 23, 2004 09:42 PMJohn Irving I love the way you express yourself and the scent of the scorch wafts through the net as a perfume to my nostrils. Well, um, I don't know what's got into me tonight. I've got a case of the metaphors, I guess. :) Posted by: jane m at October 23, 2004 11:31 PMJohn Irving: Thank you! And everything Jane M. said as well. Posted by: Steven Malcolm Anderson the Lesbian-worshipping gun-loving selfish aesthete at October 24, 2004 01:58 AMWhen hate is your primary tool, and spreading the most hateful and vicious lies is your primary way of trying to beat an incumbent, this is the result. Thank you, Michael Moore, Daily Kos, and the rest of you far-left assholes who've done so much to encourage this kind of vitriol. Posted by: Dean Esmay at October 24, 2004 07:00 AMThe guy sounds like he was drunk. What an idiot. Posted by: Ara Rubyan at October 24, 2004 08:12 AMAra, Not sure which guy you were referring to with the SECOND post. Posted by: Big Dan at October 24, 2004 08:34 AMI swear I didnt have THAT much whiskey! But Mr. Brooker must have been hitting some distilled-compost moonshine before he wrote that diatribe. Posted by: John Irving at October 24, 2004 09:02 AMNow Michael Moore has caused a guy in England to advocate killing the President! That Moore guy is magical. Omnipotent, really. Posted by: Adam at October 24, 2004 11:00 AMActually, Adam, in Europe Michael Moore is far more influential than he is here. In the UK, where newspapers openly declare their biases, he is one of the darlings of the socialist set. In countries like France, where there is no freedom of the press or right to free speech, he encourages the official government line and is lauded in their media. Only in the US can you actually get to the truth behind his deception, which is why so many people in the United States have such a low impression of this terrorist-supporting blowhard. Posted by: John Irving at October 24, 2004 11:13 AMYou're so right, John. Now we just have to figure out what to do with the millions of people in this country who watched Moore's movie, and who make all his books and DVDs bestsellers. Maybe Michelle Malkin can create some internment (re-education?) camps for them. If all those people have blood on their hands, if all those people are murdering terrorist-supporting human cockroaches, what will we do? What will we do? Talk about a fifth column. Wow. Posted by: Adam at October 24, 2004 11:36 AMThe Moore-ons consist a sizable minority of the Democrat support, and a bit of Naders, which means they consist of less than a quarter of the US, probably in the very vocal 1-5% range. While its a shame that we have so many shrieking moonbats, its a natural consequence of our freedom, and therefore inherently acceptable. The best solution for disgusting propagandists like Moore is more speech. In the meantime, Moore's support for Kerry is probably responsible for the larger number this year of Democrat defectors to Bush. The more the man from not-quite-Flint rants, the better Bush's chances look. Posted by: John Irving at October 24, 2004 12:32 PMAdam, have you actually read Malkin's book, or are you just projecting and piling on? Posted by: Dave in Texas at October 24, 2004 01:40 PM“The Moore-ons consist a sizable minority of the Democrat support…” Yeah, imagine if Democrats were supported by millions who believed their leader was God’s representative on earth, sent to lead us to the end of days – resolutely.
1) Bush is going to lose and 2) Leaders who are assassinated, Lincoln, Gandhi, Kennedy, Kennedy, King, Saddat, Rabin, etc., are almost always great leaders and men of wisdom and peace (which tells you a lot about the politics and the psychology of those who do the assassinating). In any event, George Bush won't be shot; just fired. Instead Democrats rally behind a man who believes in God, kinda. Who thinks the US is a great nation, sort of (when it is under the guiding hand of the U.N, anyway). Whose one firm conviction, from childhood days, is that he is entitled to be President of the United States, and will say anything, promise any miracle that would make a Fundamentalist Preacher blush, accept any endorsement no matter how reprehensible the source, to get to the Oval Office. And shep, you might be right about Bush losing. After all, Bush is ahead in all polls, has a firm grip on a greater number of electoral votes than Kerry, but is not willing to resort to the underhanded, power-at-any-cost deceptions and outright fraud the Democrats are engaged in for this election. But I guess having Kerry as President is far more important than having the American system continue to work. As for assassinations, whose side is endorsing assassinations? Oh, thats right, the Left. With a large sound of crickets from most of the Left (thank you Ara for speaking up!). Whose candidate was a member of an organization who discussed assassinating political opponents, and attended the meetings these tactics were brought up? Oh, wait, that would be the Democratic Party's candidate for President. If on Novemember 3rd, Kerry is a clear winner, I'll give you my congratulations on being correct, shep. Will you be so gracious when in the far greater probability Bush is re-elected? Posted by: John Irving at October 24, 2004 02:36 PMSure, John. As you continue to prove, talk is cheap. Posted by: shep at October 24, 2004 03:40 PMYes, shep your talk is certainly cheap. Thanks for acknowledging defeat. Have another beer!
