A wonderful story that most of us are familiar with, but apparently not Jesse Jackson, who had this to say last week:
"In the last [Bush] budget, we cut housing again, and that was Jesus' dilemma. In Bethlehem, his family ended up homeless," Jackson told MSNBC's Campbell Brown.
How he gets the idea that Jesus was homeless is beyond me. Maybe because of the birth in the manger? Joseph was a tradesman and probably pretty well off. It just so happens that the inn was booked, and with Mary in labor he needed to find a place imediately. He made due with what was available.
