Why??
Why did no one ever tell me about the ecstasy contained inside a pint of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food?

Why???

B&J makes some pretty good ice cream, but I prefer "Dreamery."

I most often dream in:
Deep Dish Apple Pie
( Cinnamon Spice Ice Cream with Chunks of Apples, Real Pie Crust Pieces and Swirls of Caramel.)

Or:
Grandma's Cookie Dough
( Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream Loaded with Chunks of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.)

Phish's musical output was and is uneven, but there's no doubt that the ice cream is awesome.

I just wish someone besides Baskin-Robbins, who don't have it all of the time, would make a lemon (or lemon custard) ice cream, NOT sherbet. I want to be able to buy it in a regular grocery store, even just pint size. I haven't found one at all. Anyone else? Maybe B&J will take requests...

Baskins is your best bet. You can ask the manager to get you a gallon on their next delivery. I would bet that they would oblidge you.

My favorite B&J is any flavor made with their cinnamon ice cream, like festivus or Oatmeal Cookie Chunk. Yum.

Funny, but the B&J store is much more convenient than B/R... I haven't been there in years.

Trader Joes used to carry a lemon ice cream, but I forget the maker...

Love the B&J Chunky Monkey too; but my absolute favorite is Cherry Garcia. Especially when I buy the bars dipped in dark chocolate. Yummmm.

I miss Cherry Garcia terribly. I ate at least five pints a week through college. (Of course, I'd never be able to get away with that now.) There are a few specialty stores with Ben &Jerry's over here, but only the standard-ish flavors. At $10 for a half-pint, natch.

Ha! I haven't had B&J for years. I can't even get it at our Commissary. I have to drive 3 hours to the big one, and then fork over $4 a little tub. Better than Tesco, there you part with £6 = $12 at the recent exchange rates.

The ones I really, REALLY MISS that you can ONLY get in Texas are Bluebell (ain't that a lovely view of the wildflowers?) and Promised Land (for some bizarre reason they aren't listing the ice cream...you can still get it in the smaller towns, maybe that's why...hhhmmm) If you get a chance, try the Strawberry Ice Cream with fresh strawberries from Poteet. If you're really lucky, you can still make the Strawberry Festival in April. :)
