Racism- It's OK If You Are A Liberal Part Deux

Michelle Malkin, a target of racist attacks herself, points out that black Democrats say racist attacks against black Republicans is okay.

Nothing wrong with pointing out the obvious:

Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.

Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an "Uncle Tom" and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.

Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report -- the only Republican candidate so targeted.

But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with "pointing out the obvious."

Yeah, nothing wrong with pointing out the obvious, I'm sure lots of anti-semites and KKK members feel the same way.

It's disgusting and any of you liberals that defend it are just as bad as the race baiters that do it.

HAIL TO THE QUEEN....!!!!

Terms like "Oreo" are the same as what I've heard from Nazis about "white niggers" and "white Jews". Their idea is that you're a "traitor to your race" if you don't conform to the Party Line. Well, I don't give a damn about my "race". I pledge allegiance to my country (the United States of America), and to my culture (the West), and, above all, to my Most High Goddess and to my own self.

Ara,

We did and I'm not referring to you. I am referring to those that think it is okay to racially attack someone just because he/she is a republican.

Steven, I would counter your "conform to the Party Line" meme with the idea that you are a "traitor to your race" if you, well . . . betray your race. That is, joining a political party whose policies are traditionally hostile to minorities to which you belong soley for personal advancement.

It's calling a spade a spade, dude.

Rose. Racism in the sense of bigotry is an entirely different phenomenon where you are denigrating a particular minority as somehow less entitled or biologically evolved than your own particular geneology. It's a completely different behavior but often confused with promotion of racial self-identity.

Or are you just jealous that you can't behave like a racist too? Do you really want to? Go for it girl, it's a free country. My request for your next topic is everyone come up with their own Polish joke -- without useing the word "lightbulb." Bonus if it slams blonds too.

No, I'm not jealous. I think it's sick. I think any form of bigotry to be sick and it pisses me off. I also find Polish jokes offensive but I certainly won't stop you from your right to to insult my heritage.

Blond jokes are fine.

Mark,

But the traditional positions of the Democratic Party are counter to the interests of the human race, and the interests of minorities as well. For example, the policies embodied in the Great Society were very harmful to both African and European AMericans. You race traitor!

Odd to hear you defending the typical rhetoric of the KKK.

Yeah, a black who joins the Republican party can only be in it for "personal advancement." *rolls eyes* As if anyone (particularly a politician) ever supports any political party to benefit anyone but themselves.

This is a conversion that i've had on the blog and with others -- that somehow with this issue that calling out Steele and say he's "working for whitey" is okay because the offending parties are black. And one point or another, it's up to all of us to point that racism as a whole is wrong, and not treat the people that continue to act this way attention or respect.

Will racism go away? No. But we have to work at lessening it everyday.

How can I betray my race when, as I said, I never pledged allegiance to it? Are you advocating that I become a Nazi (National Socialist) or a Ku Klux Klanner?

"That is, joining a political party whose policies are traditionally hostile to minorities to which you belong soley for personal advancement."

That means that any Negro who joins the Democratic party betrays his race since it was the Democrats who started a Civil War to preserve slavery and then instituted segregation in the South (and, under Wilson, in the executive branch of the federal government). It was Democrats who filled the ranks of the Ku Klux Klan.

Tom Hawkson:

Excellent. I say the Democrats are still the Party of the Plantation, today in the form of the welfare state which is designed to keep blacks dependent on the government. The Republican party, by contrast has historically stood for individual rights and responsibility.

Ara Rubyan asked:
"Steven:

"white Jews?""

That was a term the Nazis used to describe dissenters from their Party Line, e.g., German physicists who accepted Einstein's theory of relativity. The Nazis regarde Jews as a separate "race".

<SARCASM>So that's why African American Democrats use the race traitor lingo. They're merely paying homage to the noble traditions of their party.</SARCASM>

Notice I was careful to close the SARCASM tag. Remember your fellow commenters. The next person might be serious.

The term "White Jews" usually refers to a group of Jews in India. Other than that, I'm not familiar with any other usage of the term, among Nazis or otherwise.

P.S. I'm well-aware of the Nazis view of the Jews.

Speaking of the American Negro, I have always wanted to quote this:

"Those who blame Capitalism for exploiting people would do well to examine their history beyond the distorted public-education history books which ignote the legislated exploitation which Capitalism is blamed for, just as the same history books ignore the outstanding achievements of American Negroes such as Jan Matzelliger who invented the shoe-stictching machine, Garret Morgan who invented the traffic light, the insulated suit, and the gas mask, Elijah McCoy who invented the automatic machine lubricator, Norbert Rillieux who invented the vacuum pan for the sugar induatry, and Benjamin Bannaker who was an outstanding black American astronomer, mathematician, and surveyor who also wrote the first almanac -- to mention only a few."
-The Angry American (National Freedom Education Center, 1972)

Ever heard of these men? Me neither, until I saw that paragraph in that Conservative book which I bought from the John Birch Society at the Oregon State Fair in 1972. How come these men are not mentioned in public school textbooks? How come I have never seen a school named after any of these men? How come we only hear about the Jesse Jacksons and their ilk? Racism? Communism vs. the Negro?

Steven,

Well, it's because invention is not a good route to fame. Invent a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door, sure, but they won't remember your name. Why? Good inventors don't have to be charismatic. Actors, singers, generals and politicians do.

Then there was the man who finally refused to invent and they remembered his name for 12 years: "Who is John Galt?"

"Charisma" today means merely having a loud mouth and an empty mind. The race-pimps. Hitler, when he's not wishing he wasn't in Hell, is wishing he had been born a few decades later. If he was alive today, he'd be all over the TV. They would do everything they could to boost him and make him dictator. They would love his loud voice, his "Million Man"-style mass rallies, his advocacy of total government control over everything, his endless harping on "race race race", his hatred for Jews and Israel, and, most of all, his book-burnings.

I can't imagine anything a TV executive would love more than to see all the books and libraries in the world destroyed. I cannot think of any two media of communication that are more diametrically opposed than books and TV. I've observed that the more time people spend reading books, the less time they spend watching TV, and vice versa. The people who have the TV on every waking hour are not the people who have a lot of books in their home. Books give a sense of history. TV promotes a range-of-the-moment mentality. A book is a box of thoughts that you sit and ponder over, and then open up another box of thoughts. Books encourage the reader to think for himself or herself. TV is mainly for those who like to have blow-dried airheads do their thinking for them. TV is much worse today than it was back in my day, but I'm beginning to wish it had never been invented at all. Yes, I am an elitist.

I largely blame the public schools for turning children into TV addicts, since they now focus on teaching Political Correctness and phony "self-esteem" rather than the old-fashioned "3 R's" (reading, writing, and arithmetic). Parents, too, are too permissive, let their children watch too much TV. I'm very glad that my parents limited our TV watching and encouraged us to read good books instead. My father was a historian.

Ara, Steven's right. The Germans still use it today. Mainly older Germans who remember the 'good days' of Hitler and National Socialism, but they still do it. Along with using words like "not with such Jewish haste". Just becuase YOU don't read Der Spiegel doesn't mean the rest of us don't, or that we haven't LIVED there to experience it firsthand.

I'd have to say the many Southern Democrats I know could be KKK members. I strongly suspect 2 of havin' the getups in their closet. I'm not kidding either. That said, saying 'oreo' is not by definition rascist or bigoted. I've got a white Jewish friend who married and had children with a black man. They consider themselves oreos and their kids coffee and creamer. It's an in-joke, but still not used by them in any rascist or bigoted format.

As for allegience to my race?? WTF, you in the Aryan Brotherhood or whhat you rasist hatemonger?? I'm part black, white, indian and mexican. What 'race' should I belong to exactly? The KKK will take me because I LOOK white, but they don't want to because I've got Jewish ancestors as well as black. The indians don't mind as long as I don't stress my white-man heritage. The blacks in the south have a nasty habit of calling me 'whitey' and 'honkey' both of which are used purely in a derogatory manner. The Mexicans don't want anything to do with a gringa that speaks Spanish unless they think I'm SPANISH descented. (I am, but that's not the point.) SO, oh great RACE GOD, What F*CKING race am I? I was always taught I was HUMAN, not a specific COLOR and I'm proud of that heritage. Pity your forefathers couldn't accept other colors, and that they passed it onto you!

Rosemary, Queen of All Evil (mail):
Rhianna,

Have you seen the Lt. Gov of Maryland? He is pretty dark, with no reason to suspect that he has any white relatives. The oreos being thrown at him are because he is a Republican, black on the outside but white in the center.

That is racist.
11.3.2005 6:58am
Rhianna (mail) (www):
Rose, no I haven't but I don't need to see the man's skin to know doing that is WRONG and HATEFUL. That usage would be purely rascist, and stupid. Ignorance is curable, wanton stupidty is NOT.

If the Democrats really think this is the way to get elected, whoo hoo! I predict beating after beating in local, state, and federal elections for the rest of the time their party exists. I also predict a name change in the next decade, but with the same stupid, hateful ideas being espoused.

Rosemary, Queen of All Evil (mail):
Well, the argument being used by Democrats is that is isn't racist to point out the truth. Sick, huh?

Rhianna (mail) (www):
If there is not link to him having white blood (like it should matter...) then 'oreo' is far from the truth. But, these are the kind of people that think being a rich Republican makes you a 'race traitor', an 'uncle tom' (oh how Stowe must be rolling in her grave at that injustice), and an 'oreo'. They also seem to believe the NYT and the LA Times are actual 'news sources' and that 'fake but accurate' means it's true too. In truth they live in a schism of their own making...but blame everyone else for it. Must suck to live life that way...
