The really ironic thing about your Shadenfreud, Rose, is that the Conservatives under Harper are still politically pretty much to the left of the US Democrats. So all the US Liberals who escaped are still still living in a liberal paradise, even if Harper manages to retain power for more than a year. And being a minority government, the Tories still have to get the support of other parties liberal and left-wing parties in order to pass legislation.

Dude, I know that. I was teasing. It's not even Shadenfreud because I derived absolutely zero pleasure in the Consevative win in Canada since it was a minority win. I would have if it had been a majority.

Pretty typical paint-by-numbers combinations of half-truths (the infant mortality nonsense again?) and outright falsehoods (increased pollution, undermined civil liberties, etc.). Sad, really.

No, Rosemary, my reply was in response to your "yay Canada for electing right-wingers" remark, not in response to your immigration remark; the latter would not have made sense.

You should learn how to read more carefully...

So you attacked me for teasing you liberals about Canada electing a conservative minority?

Perhaps if you actually said that it would have been easier to read. Please point out were you specified that is what you were responding to...
