As a Chris Daughtry fan I was constantly in denial over Taylor's popularity.
If you ever looked at the Taylor Hicks message board on the AI website he constantly had 4 to 5 times as many posts in his folder than all the other contestants. At one point he had more than all the other contestants combined..
At last look a few minutes ago, Taylor had 862,000 posts. This was after the AI mods erased over 250,000 older posts. The next closest was Elliot with 277,000 posts. Chris has in the neighborhood of 254,000 posts.
Last week the 3 way tie was all for show. I think Taylor had a huge lead last week and it was a coin flip for Katharine/Elliot.
Congrats on picking the winner.. I had Carrie last year from the beginning, so now I guess we're tied.. haha
See, here's the thing. The surface of the Earth is curved, and being curved, some parts have the sun in different places in the sky than others. To deal with this confusing set of physical properties, our time-keeping mechanisms are set to different times in different parts of the world. So, for example, where you live it's a bit "later" than where I live, and the show hasn't actually aired yet.
To handle accidental exposure of the results of reality TV shows, some people add a spoiler alert, and put the results in a location not immediately in front of the reader's eyes. This lets them pretend that the show hasn't actually happened yet so that they can view it with all the suspense and excitment that others have already experienced.
As it turns out, I don't really care for this show, but others might.
Lighten up Francis. In this day and age, people who cared about not being spoiled wouldn't go on the internet until AFTER they watched the show. Most people know that Dean &Rose are rabid AI fans. So they would expect a comment on in right after it aired. Besides its not like the crowning of the Soul Man was EVER in doubt.
The producers of AI want to do the show next year, so even if Katharine McPhee legitimately got more votes, she would have lost.
Nah. If they really wanted her to win they would have found a way to sabotage him, just like they sabotaged Bo at the last minute last year by making him sing a pop song that was totally not his style. After all she's the artist they've have the easiest time with: cute, with perky breasts and a good voice. They would totally know how to promote her: give her a good stylist, a good hair care pro, some good songwriters, maybe a good dance instructor, and turn her loose. She's at least as talented as half a dozen other successful pop divas after all.
Naw, Taylor won because so many people loved him. They'll have a little more trouble figuring out what kind of music to record and how to promote him, but, they've got great raw material to work with. They just have to sell to a more selective audience--one that knows they already love him.
I think Elliot had the best voice of the Idols, but I found Taylor more entertaining and worthy of the crown. Bo Bice?!? WTF??? I HATE country music but she had the better voice by far. As for Clay, he's ok, but I did like Ruben better, but then again, I'm a classic R&B guy myself.

I hate when that happens.
Wow.
Just. Wow.

Listen Oliver, no way did that tart score more votes than Taylor. No effin' way!
