Glad To Hear It

Dean Esmay (www):
I'll never forget that "liar" charge. Never. As if he lied just so he could kill a bunch of people or to mindlessly serve his "neocon" masters.

It was the most hateful, hurtful, vicious accusation ever slung at an American President in my lifetime. It made the Monicagate nonsense look like a fucking joke.

I know Republicans can be every bit as bad. But the betrayal of those years is beyond words to me. I'm still bitter.

shep (mail):

…it is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began.

When I made the decision to remove Saddam Hussein from power, Congress approved it with strong bi-partisan support.

He’s still lying.

More hurtful and hateful than the one that had the Clintons murdering political opponents?

shep has a poor memory. Watch the video, shep, and try to refresh it.

"shep has a poor memory."

Nothing wrong with my memory, old pal (in spite of my best efforts). Here are a few gems from The Way-back Machine to refresh yours:

…if they believe he should be disarmed, and he's not going to disarm, there's only one way to disarm him. And that happens to be my last choice -- the use of force.

We hope we don't go to war; but if we should, we will present a supplemental.

The whole purpose of the debate is for Saddam to disarm.

The only thing I can do is assure the loved ones of those who wear our uniform that if we have to go to war, if war is upon us because Saddam Hussein has made that choice, we will have the best equipment available for our troops, the best plan available for victory, and we will respect innocent life in Iraq.

Nothing but lies…except for the supplemental…except it should have been in the plural.

All that people still supporting this war have left is the faint hope that "history" will regard Bush's war as the right decision, despite everything.

Good luck with that.

The video was great.

Now.

Let's get the hell out of that place.

Well, there are a few who are blaming the failure on those who thought it would be a failure while insisting that the whole thing is not a failure.

++-:

That is so right. Brit Hume's angry condemnation Sunday of everyone who didn't support the President all along as being pro-terrorist just about made me physically ill.

"This whole thing would have been a success, if not for the traitorous carping by people who thought it was a mistake from the beginning. Also, the people whose country we invaded and destroyed aren't helping out enough, either."

Yes, the Dolchstosslegende. Failure is always someone else's fault for these guys.
