Hehehe, IB, do you mean the rethugs or the dimocrits? ;)

Rose, I had a bit of a "WTF" moment. I guess they don't want to stay into lame-duck territory for fear of what else will be thrown at them. Either way, shocking to say the least.

More than one Bush flunky has left of late, no? There's been a pretty nasty turn-over rate in various governmental departments over the past several months. I'm not talkin' wussie level, I mean big girls and boys.

Why are we even considering replacing the guy responsible for Gitmo with the guy responsible for New Orleans?

BTW Rose, (other that the calls for his resignation that have been ongoing for months) I did catch a warning yesterday afternoon, and Chertoff was floated too.

It was on a blog somewhere, a bunch of them. You really ought to read some of those on-line journals thingies. They're fantastic! Even some rightie blogs had the rumor by last night, including The Corner.

Best line I've seen so far? I can't decide:
He wants to spend more time eavesdropping on his family.

OR
He vows to find the real perjurers.

I don't care what you say Wince, now that there's funny!

My favorite line (from MASH's Larry Gelbart):

"I thought nothing was going to happen to Fredo as long as Barbara Bush was alive."

Sid Blumenthal has a pretty good post-mortem on Gonzalez' rise and fall -- as well as the real reason Gonzo finally quit (hint: R-o-v-e).

Lastly, Glenn Greenwald hits it out of the park.

Sure, they were good lines, Mark.

Wouldn't have been out of place in Leno's nightly monologue, for example.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cheney retires citing health reasons in the next few months.

Seems like everyone that the Dem's can use for talking points are bailing before the end of the year.
