We had bulldogs when I was growing up, and my father would buy the largest rawhide bones they had at the pet store. Within a matter of days they would just be soft, gummy strips. Who knows what those dogs would have chewed up otherwise.

That’s right about providing an alternative chew but be careful about rawhide, it’s been known to cause windpipe and intestinal blockages if the dog consumes too much too fast. Same with pig ears and some other chews, even nyla bones.

These are popular right now since they’re 100% digestible. Just don’t ask what part of the steer they’re made from. Makes mere leather wearing seem...not very kinky.
