DC Madam found dead of an apparent suicide. But was it suicide?
A woman convicted two weeks ago of running a Washington call-girl ring that catered to the capital’s power elite was found dead here Thursday, and the authorities said she had apparently hanged herself.
The body of the woman, Deborah Jeane Palfrey, 52, was found in a shed at her mother’s home here about 20 miles northwest of Tampa. The police said Ms. Palfrey had left a notebook containing at least two suicide notes and other messages to her family, but they did not give additional details.
When you are servicing powerful Washingtonians, it isn't rocket science to think that getting caught could get you killed. This woman could have easily made millions with a tell-all book and destroyed many careers. So, did she do it? Did she really hang herself or did someone make it look that way?

It's fishy, just TOO convenient.
She did swear she'd never go to prison though, and was going to fight the "good" fight. Maybe she knew she was going to have to do her fighting from jail and decided to make good on her first vow.
Who else besides Vitner could she have fingered? Since he went down I haven't heard there were any other big fish in her little black book. Who had a motive?
If she had another card to play, she would have played it by now. My tin-foil hat just isn't tingling on this one.
I'm sure many politicians would go to great lengths to avoid being the next Eliot Spitzer, but they'd also know that her death would bring more attention to the case, not less. I think they'd know. It's hard to tell what politicians 'think'...
